Velvet Henna was born from a love of art and a lifetime spent in art and music. Originally drawn to henna as a child, this elusive, beautiful and captivating artform became mine after a chance meeting with an Indian artist at a bellydance function. After many lessons and hours of study and practice later, Velvet Henna began life at birthday parties, haflas and corporate functions.
Velvet Henna seeks to honour any celebration where a love and respect for art, and the desire to adorn the body safely and temporarily is required.
People of all ages have embraced and been smitten by this often misunderstood artform, with its edgy quality, whilst often never having been close to it before. Velvet Henna has been privileged to share a personal love of this artform with many people from all walks of life, and never tires of seeing the delight on the faces of those being adorned for the first time.
No celebration is too small or too large. From events such as the iconic Womadelaide, Gumeracha Medieval Fair & The Garden of Unearthly Delights to intimate wedding henna for the bride to be,  Velvet Henna is well experienced in the corporate and festival sectors. Private appointments are also a speciality, and nothing adds life to a party in quite the same way as having your own personal henna designer!

Have Velvet Henna instinctively design a treasure for you from a wide range of styles such as Arabic, Indian, Moroccan or African. Let your imagination run wild, sit back and enjoy the artistry of Velvet Henna.
